Our story

Built by the diaspora,
for the diaspora.

WiFiCall was born from a simple frustration: why does calling home cost so much? We set out to change that — forever.

Distance is just a number.
Connection is everything.
Our Mission

Affordable calls shouldn't be a luxury

Millions of Eritreans and Ethiopians live abroad — in the USA, UK, Canada, UAE, and beyond. They're doctors, engineers, teachers, students. But they all share one thing: family back home they desperately want to stay connected with.

Legacy telecom providers charged $0.40–$0.90 per minute for calls to Eritrea. That's not just expensive — it's a barrier to love. WiFiCall was built to tear that barrier down, delivering crystal-clear calls at $0.05/min.

Timeline

Our journey

Founded
Two members of the Eritrean diaspora sat down in a Washington D.C. apartment, frustrated by a $0.45/min phone bill, and decided to build something better.

First 1,000 Users
Word spread through community groups and churches. Within three months, over 1,000 families were using WiFiCall to stay connected across four continents.
2025
iOS & Android Launch
The polished mobile apps launched on the App Store and Google Play. Full dialpad, call history, contacts integration, and in-app top-up — everything the community asked for.
What we stand for

Our values

💚
Affordability
No diaspora family should face a choice between calling home and paying bills. We price our service to be accessible to everyone.
Reliability
A dropped call when you're thousands of miles from your family isn't just inconvenient — it's heartbreaking. Our infrastructure doesn't let you down.
🌍
Community
We're not a faceless corporation. We're part of the diaspora ourselves. Every feature we build comes from community feedback.
